Miami, Florida – 10 aprile 2025 – MSC Crociere ha battezzato la sua attesissima nuova ammiraglia, MSC World America , con una spettacolare cerimonia presso il nuovo MSC Miami Cruise Terminal, il terminal crociere più grande e tecnologicamente avanzato al mondo.
Drew Barrymore , madrina dell’evento, ha avuto l’onore di dare ufficialmente il nome alla nave, con il taglio del nastro e la bottiglia che si è infranta sulla prua, come da tradizione di buon augurio. Al fianco di Barrymore, Orlando Bloom è stato co-protagonista dell’evento insieme al comandante italiano della nave Dino Sagani.
Drew Barrymore, attrice e conduttrice del Drew Barrymore Show, ha dichiarato : “ È stato un racconto onore essere la madrina di MSC World America ed è stato super emozionante tagliare il nastro per augurare alla nave buona fortuna per gli anni a venire. La serata è stata arricchita da una serie di eventi che hanno messo in risalto la vasta offerta di intrattenimento disponibile a bordo. Gli oltre 3.000 ospiti, con VIP, stakeholders, autorità e giornalisti provenienti da tutto il mondo hanno preso parte ad una cena di gala con esibizioni indimenticabili che si sono concluse con un incredibile spettacolo di droni e fuochi d’artificio sullo skyline di Miami.
La nuova ammiraglia ultramoderna è la seconda del prototipo World Class di MSC Crociere e inaugura un nuovo modo di viaggiare con locali, intrattenimento e concetti culinari rivisitati che fondono perfettamente l’elegante design europeo tipico di MSC Crociere con il comfort nordamericano, per attirare i viaggiatori in cerca di nuove avventure.
MSC World America sarà anche la prima nave della flotta MSC Crociere a disporre di sette distretti a bordo, ognuno con un’atmosfera, strutture ed esperienze diverse, pensate per aiutare gli ospiti a scegliere la propria esperienza di vacanza e a massimizzare il tempo trascorso a bordo.
Dopo la cerimonia, gli ospiti hanno lasciato Miami per prendere parte al viaggio inaugurale di due notti verso la splendida isola privata della Compagnia alle Bahamas – Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. Durante la permanenza sull’isola, MSC Foundation terrà una cerimonia di taglio del nastro per inaugurare il suo nuovo Marine Conservation Center. La struttura servirà come centro per gli scienziati e gli studenti coinvolti nel programma Super Coral Reefs della Fondazione, oltre che come luogo in cui gli ospiti potranno saperne di più sulla missione del programma di ripristino delle barriere coralline che hanno subito l’impatto del cambiamento climatico.
Inoltre, gli ospiti potranno assistere al caratteristico spettacolo serale del faro di Ocean Cay e alla festa in spiaggia con DJ, prima di trascorrere un pomeriggio in mare, dove saranno invitati a sperimentare l’ampia gamma di servizi ed esperienze di livello della nave.

Miami, Florida – April 9, 2025 – MSC Cruises will officially name its highly-anticipated new flagship, MSC World America, in a dazzling ceremony tonight at the line’s new state-of-the-art MSC Miami Cruise Terminal, the largest cruise terminal in the world.
MSC World America’s Godmother, Drew Barrymore will officially name the ship at the glamorous event with the maritime tradition of cutting a ribbon and triggering the breaking of a champagne bottle over the ship’s bow. Barrymore will be joined by Orlando Bloom, who co-stars with her in the company’s “Lets Holiday” campaign that debuted during the Big Game.

MSC World America is the second of MSC Cruises’ World Class ships and ushers in a new world of cruising with reimagined venues, entertainment and dining concepts designed to highlight MSC Cruises’ signature blend of European design and American comfort.
The new flagship will also be the first ship in MSC Cruises’ fleet to feature seven on board districts, each having its own atmosphere, facilities and experiences, designed to help guests choose their own vacation adventure and maximize their time on board.
Tonight’s Naming Ceremony will be attended by key travel partners, international media, distinguished guests, partners and top executives from MSC Cruises and its parent company MSC Group.
The special occasion will be an evening to remember, featuring live entertainment, inspiring speeches and a range of onboard events highlighting everything the trail-blazing new ship has to offer. Guests will also enjoy a glamourous gala dinner and unforgettable performances that will culminate in a spectacular drone and fireworks display against the Miami skyline.
Following the Naming Ceremony, guests will set sail on a celebratory sailing that will see MSC World America call for an overnight stay at the cruise line’s stunning private island—Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. Guests will be treated to Ocean Cay’s signature evening lighthouse show and DJ beach party. The following morning, guests will have the opportunity to continue to enjoy the island, followed by spending the afternoon at sea, where they will be invited to experience the ship’s wide range of world-class amenities and experiences.
While on the island, the MSC Foundation will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate its new Marine Conservation Centre. The facility will serve as a hub for scientists and students involved in the Foundation’s Super Coral Program, as well as a place where guests can learn more about the program’s mission to restore coral reefs that have been impacted by climate change.
MSC World America will depart for her first public cruise on April 12, 2025 and spend her inaugural season sailing from PortMiami, offering alternating 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries with stops in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Isla de Roatan, Honduras.
